Wellness Exams

Preventative medicine is the key to maintaining long-term wellness for your pets.  At Koy Animal Clinic, we recommend an annual well check for all pets.   Because your pet can not tell you when something is wrong, regular wellness exams help to avoid serious illness for them and serious expense for you.
Our annual wellness exams include:

  • A thorough physical examination
  • Heartworm testing and preventative treatment planning
  • Fecal Sample testing for intestinal parasites
  • Annual vaccinations

Diagnostic & Surgical Care

In addition to routine examinations and vaccinations, we offer in-house laboratory services and a state-of-the-art digital radiology department.   We have extensive in-house diagnostic technology at our clinic including digital x-rays, complete blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tools to determine your pet’s condition.

Our doctors are well-trained, compassionate people who understand that surgery can be a stressful, yet necessary event for both you and your pet.  Surgical procedures such as spaying, neutering and other soft tissue/orthopedic procedures are performed on a regular basis at Koy.  We ensure the comfort and safety of your pet with pain management and a pre-operative physical exam.   You will receive a phone call from our office following the procedure so you can be sure that your pet is resting comfortably.

We generally recommend spaying or neutering your pet at six months of age. Spaying your dog or cat before her first heat cycle reduces the incidence of mammary tumors and uterine infections. Neutering your dog or cat at this age will protect him from developing adverse behaviors and potentially life-threatening disease.

Dental Care

Dental health is the most neglected aspect of preventative health care.  An unpleasant odor can indicate problems such as dental plaque, tarter, gingivitis and even periodontal disease. When left untreated, dental disease can lead to tooth loss and contribute to other chronic illnesses including kidney and heart problems.  We offer regular cleanings as well as tooth removal and fluoride treatments.  All dentistry patients are carefully monitored while under anesthesia using state of the art monitoring equipment.

At Koy Animal Clinic, the health and welfare of your pet is our main concern.  Let us ensure that they are safe and happy in your absence.  Each animal has a spacious kennel of their own and ample playtime to satisfy their exercise needs.   We are happy to honor any special dietary needs and administer medications if necessary.

Up-to-date vaccinations are required for all guests.   You may drop off or pick up your pet between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Mon-Fri and 8:30 am – 11:30 am on Saturday.  We are closed on Sundays.

Please call 512-863-0327 during regular business hours to make your reservation.

Losing a pet can be a traumatic experience for the whole family.  Ensure your pet’s safety with a microchip.  This is a quick and simple procedure that inserts identification information under the skin and causes no more pain than a common vaccination.  If your pet does not have a microchip, talk to our doctors about getting one at your next appointment.
